Happy 37 Years!
Wow, as the old saying goes “time flies when you’re having fun”! Life for Renee and I and our two boys miraculously turned a massive corner back in 1988, April 1 1988 to be exact!
Life for us before the transplant would best be described as rough. I say us because my wife Renee and our two boys, Dustin & Cody, suffered, struggled and battled side by side with me. When I was hospitalized, they stayed with me. When I struggled to get out of bed and even when I couldn’t, they encouraged me. They were my physical strength and hope.
As time seemingly began to pull away from me and normal life all but disappeared, each of us began to wonder how the next day would unfold. Everyday we would all pray together, and one day God answered. The time frame was not like we thought but Gods timing is never late, it’s always on time!
It’s amazing how far one’s body can be pushed, ravaged & yet we can keep pushing. I believe the will to survive is something we were created with and allows us to get through the worse times, quitting is not an option.
By the time the transplant call came I was hospitalized for the seemingly last time, my body was shutting down yet Gods plan was already unfolding. The call came in the early a.m. hours of that Friday morning, April 1st. 1988! A new life for Renee, Cody, Dustin and myself. Thank you Lord…
